Innovation Day

After mr ray told my partner and me about the project outline. we had the idea for a tourter shooter a basketball rack used to deliver you the ball. before starting the project I didn’t expect the work we had to do would push over into my personal time. but the actual project was much larger and more complicated. I made the mistake of not working from home this would lead to much more work to do at school. this stresses me out a considerable amount. next time I work on any project I will plan to work from home. I will use my calendar to schedule times to work on the project. this project was really enjoyable and I think it should be continued in the future.

Sustainable City 2100 Project (blommington)

in social studies, we had to do a project about a city we created.  the purpose is to learn about sastnabul cities in a hand on the way. I was the secretary of energy in our city. I learned all about creative ways to power a city. such as lunar energy this is just like solar but uses the moon. I also learned about nuclear power. I also learned about hydropower. our world is dying and we need to help it by creating sustainable cities to help fight climate change. if I did this over again I would spend more time practising.

Chanukah Candle

In science class, I and my partner Jaxon were assigned to make a candle based on a Jewish figure. Our candle is based on the fictional character Shrek. We picked Shrek as our Jewish character because he has taught us a lot about life through his movies and I think we can all try to learn and take a message from this. The voice actor for Shrek Mike Myers is Jewish. And we really admire his work in all of the Shrek movies. I think Mike Myers being Jewish impacted his work as a voice actor via his singing as a Jew in shul making his voice better. Did you also know that Shrek in Yiddish means “terror,” I also found this article explaining how Shrek is Jewish

The image below is our candle

  1. All my friends are fake by Tate McRae,avot 2:3

Verse: “Be careful with the government, for they befriend a person only for their own needs. They appear to be friends when it is beneficial to them, but they do not stand by a person at the time of his distress” (Avot 2:3)

Well most People interpreted this text as something about the government. I interpreted this text as something just about trust in general and especially about friends. The text mentions using someone only for your gain. then befriending them only if you want something and then not being friends with them when you get what you want. The song I chose for all my friends is fake by Tate McRae. This song has a Theme of being used by your friends. Which correlates perfectly to my verse. The exact part of the song that I chose is  “All my friends are fake ‘Cause all my friends are fake, fake, fake, fake

They just want me for the day, day until they don’t”. The line they want me for the day until they don’t I think means they only want me until they don’t want me they only want me until I’m useful to you only want me to I’m fine but when I’m not fun or not useful they don’t want me anymore.

This verse is very focussed around karma and what goes around comes around. The song I chose is Karma by Alicia keys. Focuses on a breakup that she had and how something bad happened to him after that breakup and she claims that this is karma. The part of the song I Chose to connect to this verse Is “What goes around comes around what goes up must come down” I think this connects to my verse in the fact that she’s talking about what goes around comes around in the verse is also talking about that and she also brings out what goes up must come down which I think is about reputation like if you do something bad your reputation will be ruined so if your reputation goes up and then you do something bad it’s going to go down.

Verse number 11 focuses on being kind and being a good person and staying away from temptation. I also interpreted this as something about you need to stay connected to the modern world and not stray too far. The verse also talks about how evil is everywhere. The song I picked a c dc evil walks Is also all about how you have to be kind and about how evil is everywhere.

The part of the song I want to focus on in specific is  “Evil walks behind you Evil sleeps beside you Evil talks around you Evil walks behind you” This part of the song is talking about how evil is everywhere and how evil is right behind you right in front of you all at the same time.

  1. This verse is all about respect and how you need to give respect to receive respect. And the song I chose Respect

by Aretha Franklin. Is all about respect as you can tell by the title of the song.  The part of the song I chose is “R-E-S-P-E-C-T Find out what it means to me R-E-S-P-E-C-T Take care,” this song connects to the verse in the fact. They both focus on respect and how you need to give respect to gain respect.

Why being reliable is the most important trait in a friend.

You ask your friend to go to  Tim  Hortons they say yeah sure. You set up the details you will meet in front of the Tim Hortons on Sunday at 2:15. You are super exuded so you get ready and go 15 minutes early you wait and wait soon your friend is 30 minutes late. so you text them they don’t answer. you wait for 30 more minutes they don’t show so you go home. this is a none reliable friend. A reliable friend would show up 10 minutes early and ask if the plan is still on in the morning.

memoir

in English, we were told to write a memoir. I chose to write about the day my parents got divorced. I chose this topic because I think I moulded myself as a person into who I am today. it was the saddest day of my life. this thought me that reality is sad and at that time I was really sad it was a dark time for me. but I was able to bounce back. I think that you can learn that things happen and you can’t control them but if you are able to cope and expect the situation then you will be okay. here is my memoir

I never thought it would turn out like this

My parents never had a good relationship but I never thought it would turn out like this. Back when I was 5 years old, my mom and dad had a big fight. My sister and I went to our grandparent’s house for four days. I had a plan for my parent’s divorce, they would live in an apartment so I could see them at the same time. How naive I was. When my brother was born my parents said that my dad could not sleep with the noise of the baby and my mom said that she could not sleep with the noise of my dad snoring. This was not true, my dad and mom just needed to sleep without each other. So for the rest of the time, they were together, they never slept in the same room again.

I woke up late, like 7:30 or 8:00 and went downstairs. It was silent. I went back upstairs and I heard talking from my mom’s room. I bust into the room. I could feel the hopelessness in the air, even taste it. My parents stop talking. I asked what they were talking about. They said nothing, I said ok. I knew they were lying. I could see the sorrow in my parent’s eyes.

That morning was bad and I made myself an egg, it tasted like nothing. I went upstairs and spent three hours playing on my Xbox. My brother and I went out to the park near our house, it was empty. The rest of the day was a blur but I do remember the end of the day. I was in my room and I heard my mom call me down because my mom and dad had to tell me something. I came down and sat on the couch with my siblings. My mom and dad were sitting on chairs across from the couch. My brother, sister, and I were scared because the only other time that my parents had called us all down to have this kind of talk was when we all moved and so we thought that it was going to be something like that, something big. And it was.

My mom said, “your father and I are getting a divorce”. Then my dad said, “so this means that we will be living in different houses”,  “I will be moving out of the house in three weeks”. And they said that he would be moving somewhere close. And then they said, “we will be friends and we will not fight”. Another lie. Then they asked “do you guys have any questions?” I said “yes, how long will it be?” And they said “forever”. Because before they had gotten into fights and one of them had left so I thought that’s what it was. And then my sister asked “what house will we be staying at?” They said, “You will be staying at both, we haven’t figured out the details yet but it will probably be on a week-to-week basis”.

And then my brother, who was four at the time, asked What does a divorce mean? My mom said “It’s when two people who have been married for a long time don’t feel happy together so they decide not to be together anymore. That is what your dad and I decided. We have been talking this over for a long time. We thought that if we moved there might be less stress but that wasn’t the case. We talked it over and we are getting a divorce”. And then my brother said ok. Then they said, “ok we’re going to talk to you privately so if you have any questions”. So my mom went with Zachary and I went with my dad. We talked it over and he said “that your mother and I aren’t feeling happy. A lot is going to change. If you ever need to talk just ask me and then my mom came in and my dad went to my brother’s room”. My mom asked me “Hey are you ok?” And I said yes even though I wasn’t. And then I went to bed and when I woke up the next morning I was happy and then I remembered Oh yeah, my parents are getting a divorce.
